Sharp Aquos Z3 with QHD display, 13MP front camera unveiled


The smartphone will go on sale from April 15 onwards.

Sharp Mobile has launched the successor of last year's Aquos Z2 smartphone in Taiwan called the Sharp Aquos Z3. The smartphone is priced at NT$ 1,3990 (approximately Rs 29,715) and will go on sale from April 15 via Synnex dealers and PChome shopping online. The smartphone comes in champagne gold colour.

The Sharp Aquos Z3 has a metal unibody design and a 5.7-inch QHD Corning 2.5D tempered glass display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. It is armed with 1.8 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 652 (quad-core 1.8GHz + quad-core 1.4GHz) processor, which is clubbed with Adreno 510 GPU, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of Internal storage, with an option to expand storage upto 128GB via microSD card. The smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system and is backed up by a 3100mAh non-removable battery with fast charging support.

On the camera front, the Aquos Z3 flaunts a good 16-megapixel shooter with dual-LED flash, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) on the back panel. In its front lies a 13-megapixel snapper with PDAF and 82-degree wide-angle lens for selfies and video chats. The smartphone houses a fingerprint scanner, which is embedded in its home button, an external speaker, a microUSB port and an IR blaster as well. This Dual SIM smartphone supports 4G/LTE with VoLTE network and comes with all basic connectivity options like WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth etc. The sensors include an Ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, accelerometer, electronic compass, and gyroscope. The handset measures 157.9 x 78.5 mm and weighs around 185 grams.
